"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament."  CCC1601

Sacred Heart of Mary dates for matrimony are scheduled out a minimum of nine months. To complete marriage preparation in a timely manner, contacting us 10-12 months in advance is best. 

The parish follows the Archdiocese of Denver matrimony preparation steps, which inlcludes a workshop (3-6 months to complete), FOCCUS Inventory, and NFP (Natural Family Planning; 3 months duration).  Information about the required steps can be found at: https://archden.org/sacraments/marriage/newly-engaged/ . 

Any couple considering marriage for a second time should be aware that time must be given for a possible annulment procedure.  Archdiocesan law prohibits the scheduling of a wedding until the annulment process is complete and an affirmative decision has been given. 

The parish Wedding Coordinator and Music Director plan the liturgical and musical aspects of the ceremony with couples.
