Congratulations to you and yours as you welcome this new and precious little one into your family! As you know, Baptism is the first sacrament celebrated in the process of becoming a full member in the Catholic Church.
The waters of Baptism symbolize life and death, washing and cleansing, and the mystery of new life out of death. At the Baptism of a child (or any person), we celebrate and reflect on God's unconditional love and welcome him or her into our faith.
The following pertains to children 7 and under. For all others, click on "Becoming Catholic (RCIA)"
To begin, please watch Fr. Barron's video below. When you are ready to request Baptism for your child, fill out the "Baptism Information Form" and have your Godparent(s) each fill out a "Godparent Eligibility Form." Please note there are strict requirements for Godparents and the form must be signed by their pastor.
Both parents and Godparents are required to have taken a Baptism class within two years of the Baptism. For a class at Sacred Heart of Mary, please contact the office after you have supplied all needed forms.
The "Baptism Requirements" page offers additional information.
Baptisms are typically offered on the Saturday mornings.
We look forward to working with you and welcoming your child into the Mystical Body of Christ.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
