Requirements

• Weekly attendance at Mass as a family
• Your child must have attended CCD/religious education of Catholic school last year. If your child was not enrolled, he/she will need to be enrolled this year and the sacraments will be delayed until next year.
• Two parent meetings for each sacrament.
• Your involvement in your child's religious education and celebration – including completing a packet with your child for each sacrament.
• Attendance at one catechetical class offered by the Archdiocese of Denver.
• Copy of your child's Baptismal certificate.

While it is still intended that the parent is the primary educator of the child, we want to offer you the best supplementation possible. In order to do this we will be working closely with you and your child throughout the year.

From October to May, you child's religious education class will focus on the reception of two sacraments: Reconciliation and Eucharist. During this time the materials provided and classroom activities will support your example and instruction at home to prepare the children for their sacraments. The first semester will highlight Reconciliation and close with a group celebration of this sacrament on Saturday, December 8th at 9:00 AM. The second semester will highlight Eucharist and end with the celebration of First Holy Communion, Saturday, May 3rd at 9:00 AM for Tuesday CCD and Saturday, May 10th at 9:00 for Wednesday CCD.

Parental participation will involve two (2) mandatory meetings for each sacrament as well as attendance at one of the offered Catechetical classes.

Meetings Will Be Held:

Monday, October 8th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM – This meeting is for parents only. Please bring a copy of your child's Baptismal certificate. During this meeting you will be filling out paperwork for your child's sacraments.

Thursday, February 28nd at 7:00 PM – This meeting is for parents only.

Sunday, April 27th 12:30-5:30 PM – This meeting is for parents and children.

Please mark your calendars today! If you know you are unable to attend a meeting, please notify Kerri Maxwell at least three days prior to the scheduled meeting so that we can arrange a make up time.
